When we first met Michele and Matt this past Spring I knew it was going to be the right match of artist and client the moment they walked into our door. During our consultation I asked Matt and Michele if they could describe their perfect photographer. Michele gave a one-word answer: “You.” As they say, the rest is history!

Michele and Matt’s wedding took place Nov. 7 at St. Therese Parish in North Kansas City and it was positively awesome!

One thing I especially love is when a couple defies conventions with their wedding, especially when following conventions involves the risk of discomfort or inconvenience. Weddings are notorious for forcing participants to choose style and appearance over function and comfort. Foregoing traditional footwear, Amanda chose to wear a pair of Chuck Taylor’s. Way to go Amanda!

This wedding was awesome! Amanda’s an educator. Those of you who know me know I hold teachers in very high regard. It was a pleasure to try my very best for her and Evan! Enjoy.

Rachel and Brian sure know how to throw a party! What an awesome couple. Brian is an educator (applause.) Rachel is a budding doctor currently doing her residency in South Carolina, they both went to the University of Missouri (more applause.)

As a photographer, sometimes you just know after the first time you meet a couple that they will be a constant source of awesome pictures. I call it the spark. It has more to to with a couple’s interaction and energy around one another than anything. There’s no end to the joy these two share. Boy, do they laugh and smile a lot!

The Lenexa Conference Center is a bit of a marvel and features some very nice possibilities for your Kansas City wedding. The home was originally the property of the Lackman family. They were important figures in the early economic life of Johnson County. The property is listed on the Register of Historic Kansas Places.
