During the wedding ceremony the skies cleared. What good fortune! We made our way outside to shoot some portraits while Ashley and Cale’s guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Chance always favors the prepared!

I love photographing weddings that break the mold. Especially when breaking the mold means to have a wedding that simply follows what is true to that couple, their friends and families.

When I first met Heidi in March, she came to my Kansas City photography studio, sat down on my big sectional and let loose her enthusiasm for her wedding and our pictures. It was awesome and we knew this was an artistic match!

Heidi and Keith have been married before and have the most gorgeous kids from their previous marriages. The children were selected as the wedding’s bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Their wedding was less about the merging of two lives as the union of families. At times it felt more like a family reunion than a reception. What an awesome day!

We will be showcasing the awesome wedding of Heidi and Keith very soon. Out of all the Kansas City photographers they could have chosen, they picked me! I am deeply honored. Just to wet your appetites here’s a sneak preview!

Meg and Eric held their reception at Crosstown Station at 1522 McGee St. in dowtown Kansas City. Couples and their photographers in Kansas City have many, many venues to choose from but I was very impressed with the space at Crosstown Station. It has a large bar with multiple service areas, beautiful brick with spacious main floor and an upstairs area for additional seating. The windows on the north side overlook the Kansas City skyline making for a space with wonderful possibilities.

I wanted to share with everyone a new gallery of images I made from a couple of weddings we have photographed at Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village over the last couple of years. This church is really lovely with beautiful light and spacious interiors not to mention a great location which is not far from many reception sites in the Kansas City area.
